FAQ

How to form a team?

You can have teams of 5-8 people, so you'll need to find at least 4 other people and nominate a team captain. Teams should be as mixed as possible with a range of male/female and student/staff members as far as possible. Team Captains should expect to motivate their teams, ensuring their team meets its weekly goals and gets involved.

What do we do once we have enough people to form a team?

Once your team is ready, each member of the team should register yourself using your institutional email address. If you are a Team Captain, you will be able to name your team and send invitations to your team members. Team members, once registered, will be able to request to join a particular team.

ALL registrations must be completed before the start of the challenge.

What counts as ‘movement minutes’?

There are plenty of activities could be count as ‘movements’, including parts of your daily routine. For example if it takes you 10 minutes to walk to the station, those 10 minutes can be counted into your minutes. And if you decide to go for a 30 minute walk after lunch, that also counts. Gym sessions, sports training sessions and group exercises – they all count as your ‘movement minutes’.

The ultimate aim of GoFit for each team is to move more every week, so as each week progress your team should try to achieve more ‘movement minutes’. Therefore, you could walk a bit longer each week to work; you can join more free physical activities; or you could even organise your own activities in your spare time. As long as you move a little more each week, you are on the right track.
